WHEN YOU TOUCH WET FOOD IN THE SINK (2026) is based on a true story from the artist’s life, centered on an encounter through the Grindr app (no sexual act took place that day). Instead, the meeting unfolded through a conversation about one of society’s most persistent myths: the belief that “a big nose and large feet mean a big penis,” while “a small nose and feet mean a small penis.”
From this seemingly banal exchange emerges a broader reflection on how bodies are read, ranked, and consumed through systems of stereotype, desire, and projection. The work situates these assumptions within a wider economy of fetishisation, where fragmented physical traits become charged signs, overloaded with sexual expectation, racialized imaginaries, and gendered fantasies. In this logic, the body is not only judged but also fetishised as an assemblage of readable parts, each carrying its own social and erotic narrative.
The book reveals what normally remains hidden: the symbolic violence embedded within the simplest gestures, and the transformative force that emerges when the body turns everyday forms of theatricality into a stage of resistance capable of redefining reality.
